UK cyber security firm secures £22 million backing from investors

We are halfway through Cyber Security Month and it has just been announced that cyber security firm Garrison has received over £22 million funding from a group of investors to lead on a new safe web browsing technology project.

This is one of the biggest investments into a UK cyber security business yet as it surpasses the funding Digital Shadows secured in September 2017.

Who is Garrison?

Garrison is well recognised within the defence market for the ground-breaking national-security-grade technology that they create. The company has a long list of high-profile clients, including the UK Government as well as global blue chip organisations across the banking, insurance, media, telecoms, and legal sectors.

Garrison’s technology is developed by defence and security industry veterans David Garfield and Henry Harrison, who have previously worked with national security specialist BAE Systems Detica.

New technology to boost UK cyber security

Private and public sector organisations across the world use Garrison’s services to help their employees access all types of web content without any risk of exposing their organisation to cyber-attack.

Garrison CEO David Garfield is confident that organisations are beginning to recognise the ever-growing threat that a cyber attack could affect their most sensitive data and systems. He says that Garrison has:

“designed the world’s first truly secure web browser to solve this problem, applying national-security-grade levels of protection to the commercial environment – at an accessible price point – in a way that doesn’t destroy the user experience as employees go about their work.”

Garrison’s latest funding round also included participation from existing investors IP Group plc, BGF and NM Capital.

The new funds will be used to expand Garrison’s sales and marketing activities, to grow the company’s engineering team and to enhance the company’s ‘safe web browsing as a service’ cloud offering.

How secure is your organisation?

Protect your organisation from 80% of common cyber threats by completing the Cyber Essentials certification level that is suitable to you.

To work with the MOD, it is mandatory that suppliers have completed this certification. If you are not yet Cyber Essentials certified, we are currently offering suppliers £50 off the cost of certification until 31 October 2018, with the code cybermonth50.
