Cyber Security Tenders in Europe
Since attacks like WannaCry, Europe has been working hard to repair and maintain its fragmented cyber security environment.
The most recent attack on the German government’s IT network proves that Europe has a long way to go before it is fully protected from these types of attacks.
Studies by PWC* estimated that the European cyber security market (protective products and services) was worth $22bn in Western Europe in 2016 and is expected to hit over $25bn this year.
Increasing spend on services is driving this market forward, making now an excellent time for suppliers to start looking for security tender opportunities in Europe.
A cyber-attack on Germany’s government IT network is “ongoing”, officials say, a day after they said it had been “brought under control”. “It is a very serious cyber-attack,” said Armin Schuster, who chairs the parliamentary committee that oversees the intelligence services. The defence and interior ministries’ private networks are being affected.

The latest news came from the Munich Security Conference on 16 February 2018. Theresa May told world leaders, military commanders and defence industry executives that Britain wants to build a “deep and special security partnership” with the EU after Brexit.
Fraser Cameron, a senior adviser at the European Policy Centre, says that “an amicable divorce would mean the closest possible co-operation in foreign and security policy.”
After Brexit, the UK Government wants British businesses to access EU-backed defence industrial projects and the new European Defence Fund (EDF). However, it is still unclear whether the Brexit divorce will be amicable or messy.
