Small businesses bringing innovation to defence
In recent years, small businesses from every part of the UK have made a major contribution to high-profile defence projects.
Many have bid for work within the defence supply chain, working on projects such as warship galleys in Newcastle and building circuit boards in the South West.

MOD investment in SMEs
Government organisations are keen to work with smaller businesses because of the тАШunique expertiseтАЩ that they can bring to the table.
In 2017, the MOD invested over ┬г2.5 billion in SMEs as part of its commitment to making defence procurement opportunities more accessible. Hundreds of small businesses have also signed up to the Armed Forces Covenant, pledging their support for the military community.
