The Stockholm International Peace Research Institute (SIPRI) recently revealed that global spending on defence was over $1.7 trillion in 2014, with 75% of Europe’s spend originating in Western and Central Europe.
In addition, spending on the military in France is expected to increase by $4.5bn in the next five years alone.
