Country: United Kingdom

1. Title: FUNDRAISING CASE FOR SUPPORT
2. Awarding Authority: Humanitarian Leadership Academy. Email: k.stevens@humanitarian.academy.
3. Contract type: Service contract
4. Description: Background
The Academy aims to be a major capacity building initiative for the whole humanitarian sector which addresses the critical shortage of skilled staff and leaders in the face of the increasing number of humanitarian crises.
We believe the key to successful professional development is collaboration in achieving our vision. The Academy is establishing partnerships across local NGOs, international NGOs, the UN and the Red Cross/Red Crescent Movement, governments and key local, regional and global networks to improve the quality of humanitarian assistance worldwide.
We are currently focusing on developing a three to five-year funding strategy which will outline our approach to securing fundraising through traditional and innovative income streams.
In terms of sustaining our funding beyond 2020, we are aiming for a shift toward national and regional sources, which we will be scoping over the next 6 months.
In terms of sustainability of our funding strategy, we are aiming for a diversified mix of income, with varying maturities, where Centres transition toward sourcing funds in their countries/regions and generating an increasing proportion as cost-recovery income (fees for core services).
We are now seeking consultancy support in producing creative and compelling concept notes for each identified investment opportunity.
Purpose
To review Academy documentation to date (core narrative, proposals, core strategy etc.) and utilise these to create concept notes for key investment opportunities that are clear, compelling, creative and will be attractive to a range of donors including corporate partners, philanthropists and institutional donors.
